This exhibition showcased many artist's works in the form of postcards, the piece I exhibited was from my 'Appropriating Appropriation' collection. The work focuses upon appropriating Roy Lichtenstein's iconic painting in a modern setting, changing the original context of the work. OMG! I BROKE A NAIL! was created to appropriate the stereotypes of young women. When creating this work I decided to twist the narrative to make the visual imagery seem very over dramatic, changing the overall tone to be comical.
